Birdies, Eagles, and Holes-in-One!

I forgot to mention that I stayed in Shelby, MT thursday evening and Friday with my daughter and son-in-law, Ariel and Jordan Weishaar.

They fed me well, gave me a nice place to sleep, and let me soak in their tub. I had just ridden over the Continental Divide twice and was pretty beat when I got to their place. It was nice to be there for awhile.

They also arranged for me to get a massage with a lady in Shelby and she worked on the knot in my shoulder and that helped me a lot also.

We went golfing on Friday and got rained on but we still golfed 9 holes. We ripped the golf course up. Nothing but birdies, eagles, and a few holes-in-one if my memory serves me correctly. It may be a little oxygen deprived at the moment so I am not quite sure of the golf scores. Anyway it was nice to stay with them after a couple of tough days. Thank you very much. Dan

  1. Dan,
We seem to have a mutual acquaintance in Cliff Harrison, and he suggested I email you.

July 23 I was riding my bicycle and got smacked by a truck on Hwy 16 (he crossed the fog line, innattentive driving at this point, blood test not complete yet). I was extremely fortunate to come out with "just" some broken bones (leg and multiple locations on spine), a couple deep lacerations, road rash(s), and bruised up most everywhere. Also I broke my helmet which left me with a whopper of a headache. But it looks like the injuries "should" all be completely recoverable.

This isn't meant to scare you, as I'll be getting back on the bike as soon as possible...after I go shopping for a new bike.

This email is a comment on Insurance. As a bicycle rider I had some coverage under my auto insurance as a "pedestrian hit by a car", so my medical payments clause, and under-insured clause are applicable. This may have to be tapped if the "perp" has only the state minimum amount of auto insurance, Idaho is $25K, Cal. is $15K for example. Right now I'd estimate the bills will get real close to $50K, and if you didn't know, a helicopter ride is $10k!.
( Note: the auto insurance is considered primary for this case, and 2nd is health insurance).

If you have not already thought about it check your auto insurance, you might be able to bump up coverage for a minimal cost, and see how this blends with your health insurance. Both will be going after the 3rd party to recover their money...which may leave nothing for you for lost wages and pain-n-sufferin. Heck, I'd like $5k for having a catheter jammed up my _.

    Good Luck
